Adam Cooke
Adam studied at the University of Manchester for his BMus (Hons) degree, and has continued on to study at the prestigious 'Guildhall School of Music and Drama', specialising in Trombone Performance after receiving a scholarship.
Prior to his appointment here at Becontree, Adam was Principal Trombone with the Castleward Opera Ireland, and took part in the London Symphony Orchestra's 'Pitch Perfect' Scheme for young musicians.
Adam is also the Musical Director for 'Vaganza Brass', an initiative between the University of Manchester and the Royal Northern College of Music, incorporating players from the top Championship bands including Black Dyke, Grimethorpe, Fairey's and more, and specialises in performance of modern works for Brass Band together with more popular test pieces.
Adam joined the Hoover (Bolton) Brass Band after their National 3rd Section championship win, and although the band was low in number despite their promotion to the 2nd section, Adam worked with the band to bring it again to full strength, and since Adam's departure, they have continued to place in competitions. Adam also was the Principal Conductor for the New Belfast Sinfonia, Belfast's leading young classical music ensemble, performing works by Tchaikovsky, Beethoven and Miakovsky, and he led the University of Manchester Brass Ensemble too.
Adam is also hired on a freelance basis for many different ensembles in the UK and Ireland, and has previous worked with the Leyland Band, the North Cheshire Wind Orchestra and the Queen's University Symphony Orchestra.
