On Saturday the 24th of October, Philip Fisher and Becontree Brass Band took part in a Charity concert along with Letchworth Salvation Army Songster Brigade and Vocal Soloist Janet Stone in Letchworth Free Church. Philip impressed the crowd with renditions of solo pieces such as Erik Leidzen's technically challenging 'The Old Rustic Bridge', Philip Sparke's 'Capriccio', and showed a more sensitive side with Paul Lovatt-Cooper's 'An Untold Story'.
Becontree Band, as well as accompanying Philip, also played crowd-pleasers such as Goff Richard's 'A Disney Fantasy', and more reflective pieces too, including Peter Graham's arrangement of 'Dear Lord and Father'.

Vocal soloist Janet Stone bought us songs from the musicals, including a couple of Andrew Lloyd-Webber's compositions, and also the 21st Century's answer to Silent night, 'A Candlelight Carol', whilst Letchworth songsters sang upbeat songs such as Boscombe Songster Leader Darren Bartlett's 'High Adventure', complete with 'Reggae' feel, and showed a more thoughtful, reflective side with Damian Wileman's 'He Sought Me'.

In total, over £950 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support, which gives great credit to everyone involved in this highly successful concert.
